When thinking of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, cranberry sauce is staple. There’s no shame in liking the premade canned sauce (I love it too!), but if you want to impress your family or friends, this easy recipe is for you!  This tart and tangy sauce can make the perfect side to your Thanksgiving turkey, pancake topping, or even star in your holiday charcueterie board!

Ingredients:

12 oz of fresh cranberries (1 bag)

20 oz of crushed pineapple

Directions:

1.            Wash and rinse cranberries.

2.            Over medium heat, place cranberries and the whole can of crushed pineapple into a large saucepan.

3.            Let fruit mixture come to a boil, stirring frequently. The cranberries with start to pop, that is okay!

4.            Once mixture is at a boil, lower to a simmer and begin to mash the cranberries with your spoon as you stir.

5.            Cook for 20-25 minutes, until all liquid is absorbed.

6.            Enjoy warm or cold!
